Join the Oracle Applications User Group (OAUG) Analytics, BI and Big Data Special Interest Group (SIG) team in a discussion with Xilinx about replacing Oracle Discoverer through a combination of OBIEE, BIP and APEX tools.

As Xilinx, a semiconductor company in San Jose, CA, looked to replace Discoverer, their team found that depending on business function, there was no single tool or application which could successfully satisfy Discoverer users. Depending on how users utilized Discoverer, proposed solutions would not fulfill their business needs. Departments such as Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Quality and Engineering all diverged on the deployment of replacement tools for Discoverer, both on the tools implemented and the timeline of implementation.

This case study discusses how one department, Customer Operations, successfully replaced Discoverer through a combination of Oracle BI Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), BI Publisher (BIP), and APEX tools. This webinar includes discussion of Xilinx's roadmap for Discoverer retirement and the roadblocks which continue to delay full replacement, the specific Customer Operations business cases, and how this department utilized Discoverer along with the solutions deployed to meet business needs using a combination of OBIEE, BI Publisher and custom APEX tools.

The Oracle Application User Group (OAUG) Analytics, BI and Big Data Special Interest Group (SIG) was formed to allow users to share information and best practices related to the use of Oracle Analytics, BI and Big Data on-premises and cloud solutions. Through the SIG, users have access to education and training programs and may provide feedback to Oracle by recommending product enhancements and influencing future versions of the software. If you are interested in participating in the SIG, please join the membership at our web site at http://analytics.communities.oaug.org.
